THE WILD HOUND EXPERIENCE
Relaxed outdoor photography for dogs who'd rather explore than pose.
AUTUMN SESSIONS ARE NOW BOOKING 🍂
Autumn bookings are now open.
There's something a little magical about Shropshire in autumn.
The woodland takes on those beautiful golden and copper tones, the light becomes softer and warmer, and every walk seems to come with a carpet of leaves underfoot.
It's the perfect time for a Wild Hound adventure. There's plenty for curious noses to investigate, leaves to chase, sticks to carry and new paths to explore — while I capture the playful, peaceful and completely them moments along the way.
Autumn Special
For Autumn 2026, Wild Hound Experiences at Apley Woods are £35.
Prefer somewhere else? Sessions in Telford & Shrewsbury are £60, with Further Afield adventures available from £85 depending on location.
Your session fee covers the photography experience itself, with photographs purchased separately afterwards.
Autumn sessions are available until 31 October 2026.
The next Wild Hound season will begin in Spring 2027.

AUTUMN SESSIONS.
Let them be dogs.
Muddy paws, curious noses, leaves in their fur and the occasional completely chaotic moment are all part of the adventure. You don't need a perfectly behaved dog to have beautiful photographs.
-
This isn't about getting your dog to sit perfectly and smile for the camera.
It's about giving you both the space to explore, have fun and simply enjoy being together, while I quietly capture the moments that show who your dog really is.
-
Ready to start your Wild Hound adventure? Choose your session date and time online, then select your location and any options you'd like to add. You'll have everything you need to book your experience in one place.
Not quite ready to book, or have a question you'd like to ask first? That's absolutely fine. Send me a message and I'll be happy to help you decide whether a Wild Hound session is right for you and your dog.
Once your session is booked, I'll send you your Session Guide, filled with everything you need to know before your adventure — from what to expect on the day to how you can help your dog get the most from their time in front of the camera.
-
This is where the adventure begins.
We'll spend 60–90 minutes exploring a beautiful dog-friendly location together, with plenty of time for your dog to sniff, wander, play and settle into their surroundings.
I won't expect your dog to behave like a professional model. Some dogs need a little time to warm up; others are ready to go from the moment they arrive. We'll follow their lead, using treats, encouragement and plenty of patience to help them feel relaxed and happy.
While you're enjoying your time together, I'll be looking for the little things that make your dog them: their expressions, quirks, movement and the connection you share.
-
After your session, you'll receive a private, password-protected Selection Gallery containing at least 40 photographs from your adventure.
Take your time looking through them from the comfort of home. You'll have 12 weeks to choose the photographs you'd like me to fully edit.
There is no minimum purchase and no pressure to choose more than you genuinely love. You simply select your favourites and purchase the images or collection that's right for you.
I'll then take your chosen photographs through the full editing process — carefully refining each one and making those final little touches that turn a beautiful moment into a finished Wild Hound portrait.
-
Once your chosen photographs have been fully edited, they'll be delivered to your private online gallery as your finished, high-resolution digital images.
These are yours to download, share and enjoy.
Your final gallery will remain accessible for two years, giving you plenty of time to revisit your photographs and, in the future, order something beautiful to display them in your home.

You will be surprised that over 50% of the dogs I’ve photographed are actually on their lead in their photos.
At the start of your photo session, we have a “practice” pose where I teach you how to pose your pup, hold the lead, and generally show how the rest of the session will go.
Post-session leads, human legs & arms are edited out as if they were never there!
If your pup loves to run around off-leash then there are plenty of breaks in-between poses and locations for them to do what they love.

Many dogs “flunked obedience school!” They get excited and forget all they learned! We are prepared for that. Fortunately, I have tons of patience while we wait for them to relax and begin having fun!
My goal is to capture your dogs being themselves, at their most comfortable selves. Before we start, I will get to know your dog and help them get used to my company. I have techniques and ways around all personality types. For example, if your pet is timid and is struggling to get used to the camera, I can use a zoom lens and work a fair distance away, outside of their comfort zone.

I'm based in Telford, Shropshire, and I'm more than happy to travel to nearby villages and towns, such as Shrewsbury. If you're a bit further away, like Ludlow, please get in touch with me first to see if travel is possible.
For our photo sessions, I mostly photograph dogs at Apley Woods in Telford. It's a fantastic, dog-friendly park with a lot of natural elements and beautiful sections to work with. It's a place where we can capture your furry friend at their happiest, whether they're running through the leaves or enjoying a sunny day by the water. However, I'm also open to discovering new locations, so let me know of your suggestions!

Yes, we can certainly capture moments with multiple pets provided they live in the same home and family. Please note that when working with additional pets, we may request the presence of more individuals to assist in handling them. Responsibility for this assistance falls upon the dog owner, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable session for everyone involved.

For a few days prior to your photoshoot, I will be keeping an eye on the weather. If it appears to a guaranteed miserable day, or we’ve had non-stop rain and will make the area slippery and dangerous, then we can re-schedule the shoot (but we don’t have to if you want a rainy session!).
On the day of the shoot, I will message you whether the shoot will go ahead or will be re-scheduled. Don’t worry though, I love photographing on cloudy days compared to sunny cloudless day as it produces softer images with pleasing results.
-
Due to external commitments, I can only confirm session dates and times 4 weeks in advance at a time. There are approximately 6-8 available slots per week to choose from.

Of course! I love capturing the special bond between pets and their humans. Just let me know ahead of time, or just hop right in during the photoshoot.
It's nothing personal but I don't share any photographs with humans in them in my portfolio, marketing materials etc. so you can be rest-assured they will automatically remain private for your viewing only.
On a rare occasion I may seek permission to use those photos, but you will be the one to provide permission and will be informed the purpose.
